Access control is an automated system that enables to efficiently approving or refusing the transit of persons or vehicles to restricted areas on the basis of security parameters established by the company. It can also automatically record an individual's movements within a given space.
DORLET's access control is integrated by different readers, a controller, and software such as DASSnet.
WIRELESS SYSTEMS
Access control subsystems for rooms, offices, classrooms, or areas with not too many security requirements. It provides complete control with an entry and/or exit reader. They can be managed from the software DASSnet within the centralised systems and offer transparent management for the user.
Management modes:
- DOC (Dorlet On Card). All permissions, movements and messages are stored on the card.
- Via radio. Device state, remote commands and battery level, as well as the option of remote openings, are centralised. The rest of permissions are managed through DOC.
- Wireless - Reader on Line. The electronic handle or cylinder is part of an access control that works totally on-line, as a wireless reader, hanging from the controller, but with no wiring needed.
ONLINE SYSTEMS
These systems are integrated through a local or remote PC, where access control software is used to keep a log of all operations performed on the system with date, time, authorisation, etc. Integration with other systems is ideal in this type of solutions: CCTV, intrusion, vehicle access, intercom, asset management, etc.
IDENTIFICATION TYPES
- Proximity card. The most widespread terminals use RFID proximity card readers which do not require direct contact with the reader.
- Fingerprint. Access is allowed when biometric points of the employee's fingerprint are recognised.
- Other biometric systems: Other solutions available based on face, iris, 3D fingerprint image, etc.
- PIN. A password provided by the company is required.
- Credential on a smartphone: A virtual credential can be carried in the mobile phone, based on identification by NFC or BLE.
Biometric recognition offers the highest security level, as identity theft is impossible with some of the available technologies; however, identification based on RFID or mobile phone cards can also be totally secure provided that the information is encrypted, as in DORLET solutions. Ideally, several of these technologies can be combined in the same access.
WHAT IS IT FOR?
- Improving security. In companies that have many employees, it is crucial to control who enters and who leaves the facilities. With an access control system, only the people allowed to enter the company can do so.
- Prevent access to specific areas. When there are areas of the company where high value or hazardous materials or important documentation are stored, it is appropriate to delimit access to these areas. Access control will allow only those people who have permission to enter.
- Improve control over employees clocking in and out. Employees will only be granted access to and from the premises when they identify themselves at the terminal.
