The classic architecture of a DORLET access control system almost always requires physical connection with the facility equipment. The advantages of this type of facility lie in the ability to configure each equipment and monitor movements on-line. On the other hand, the facility requires that the infrastructure allows these communications.

DOC architecture

“DORLET ON CARD” allows an access control system to be deployed without needing a network infrastructure that supports communication with the access control system equipment. This is possible thanks to HS/STAINLESS STEEL systems, which do not require a physical communications connection, and thanks to “MIFARE” contactless technology, which allows access information to be stored and read securely on the card. cards and readers are based on Mifare technology, in accordance with ISO14443A standards at 13.56 Mhz.

In these facilities, information relating to a card's access permission (insertion in readers, times, expiry dates, bistable display, etc.…) is integrated in the card's memory instead of being stored in the facility equipment. A facility can combine the use of AS/3 or SB/3 devices and HS/STAINLESS STEEL or HSC-DOC. This mixed solution is the best one in most cases.

This system's general capacity, with 1Kbyte Mifare cards, is:

- Up to 1,500 access doors per card, with expiry date and time zone.

- Storage of up to 58 messages per card.

- Up to 4 access exceptions per card, with expiry date and time zone.

- Unlimited users at the access control point (HS/STAINLESS STEEL badge or NOC CPU), on having all of the information on the card itself.

The basic elements in a facility of this type are:

- DORLET DASS Software. These functions are part of the standard access control module, and are only present if the facility has DOC systems.

- Synchronism reader. Reader connected to the PC to manage cards, allowing their programming and collection of messages. It performs the same functions as a reader connected to a synchronism CPU.

- Synchronism CPUs and synchronism readers (iButton , 70-EAN or LXS). CPU that updates card permission and downloads card information. Like the above reader, it can perform standard access control reader functions, such as door opening, recording clocking in times, etc.…

- Independent HS/STAINLESS STEEL locks or DOC CPUs. These are independent systems for which permission will be programmed in the synchronism systems.
